Y-C.R.E.D. 2021 enabled viewers to watch live broadcasts of their target language. These broadcasts were recorded, and have been posted to this page for viewing. The languages offered in this year’s live stream event were Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish, as well as a unique mixed Eastern European session.
Chinese
Chinese Mahjong and Chinese Teaching

In this session, the audience will be able to learn how to play Chinese Mahjong and tell what the influences of Mahjong on Chinese life are. In addition, the audience will be able to describe how the presenter could embed Chinese Mahjong culture into Chinese numbers and Hanzi learning.

In this session, the Chinese wedding celebration will be introduced and compared with Western wedding customs. The audience will be able to compare and contrast the differences between celebrating weddings in China and Western countries.

Chengda Drum Performance - 成大鼓陣表演

Come see a performance from the Cheng Da Drum Team. Based in the greater Chicago-land area, the team has its roots in traditional Chinese drum and percussion background. The group was founded in 2000 and has an affiliation with the Cheng Gong Da Xue (National Cheng Kung University) in Taiwan.

The group performs 2 pieces: "Etudes" for LuoGu (Chinese Percussion Ensemble), and “Jasmine Flowers” for Silk and Bamboo Ensemble. This is the debut public performance of the club. The New Trier Chinese Music & Arts Club is America's FIRST High School run Chinese music ensemble in the country.
