Avant Arabic Proficiency Test (APT)
The Avant APT test consists of 4 sections that take roughly 20-30 minutes each to complete. The APT test is one of the Global Seal of Biliteracy’s qualifying tests and is an online, computer adaptive (level of difficulty adapts to student) test that can be given at a school/organization with a proctor or can be online proctored.
Test Overview
Approximately 2 hours
Section 1: Reading (approx. 30 minutes, authentic resources with multiple item type test questions)
Section 2: Writing (3 prompts)
Section 3: Listening (approx. 30 minutes, authentic resources with multiple item type test questions)
Section 4: Speaking (3 prompts)
Aligned to the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines
ACTFL Intermediate-Mid = Avant Score of 5
ACTFL Advanced-Low = Avant Score of 7
ACTFL Advanced-High = Avant Score of 9
Nationally & Internationally Recognized
The Avant APT is delivered entirely in Arabic. Avant also offers all testing support materials in Arabic.
Accepted by the Global Seal of Biliteracy
Yes, note that there are three grade bands for APT. The Global Seal of Biliteracy only accepts grade bands 6-8 & 9-adult. The 3-5 grade band is not accepted by the Global Seal of Biliteracy.
Functional Fluency Requirements: Avant Score of 5 or higher.
Working Fluency Requirements: Avant Score of 7 or higher.
Professional Fluency Requirements: Avant Score of 9 or higher.

When/Where
Test can be scheduled at any time convenient for the school or organization. The Avant APT Reading and Listening scores are available immediately after the test is completed. Scores for the Writing and Speaking sections will be available 10-12 business days or less.
