Erika Erdely Ruiz
Academic Coordinator at UNAM Chicago
Erika Erdely is full time professor at the Centre for Foreigners, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She finished her PhD in Linguistics at the UNAM with a thesis based on relevance theory. She has been teaching Spanish as a foreign language for more than 15 years and trains teachers at a graduate level. Her research deals with semantics and pragmatics of lexical items and with the teaching of syntax in language classes. She coordinated the publication of the textbooks Así Hablamos, intermedio 3 and Dicho y Hecho 7, español como lengua extranjera. Erika is also a member of the editorial committee of the Journal Estudios de Lingüística Aplicada, published by the Centre for Foreign Languages at UNAM. Erika Erdely has also worked as Spanish coordinator at the Centre for Mexican Studies- United Kingdom, part of a partnership between UNAM and King´s College London, and as Academic Coordinator at UNAM Chicago.
